  CHARLES CRUME SOFTWARE (CCS) was founded in June of 1992 in Cincinnati, OH.

The company's initial goal was to provide decent, inexpensive, and easy to use computer software for antiques dealers. We also committed to providing upgrades and technical assistance at a reasonable cost. Our initial product, the Small Business Inventory System (SBIS), was released in late 1992. It was designed for the single antique dealer with a small shop. During our marketing efforts for SBIS, we met an antique mall owner who encouraged us to develop a program for malls. That program, Data Management System (DMS), was released in early 1993.

Since then, CCS has expanded it's software products and other computer services to include:

      • A wide range of computer hardware (IBM and CDC mainframes, HP mini-computers, Harris and Sun Microsystems Unix boxes, and various PC and laptop micro-computers).
      • Numerous programming languages such as: FORTRAN, WATFIV, PL1, COBOL, BAL (IBM assembler), Zilog Z-80 assembler (I once dis-assembled, and documented, the binary code of the Zilog dis-assembly program), Visual dBASE, LISP, Snobol, PHP, Perl, and MySQL.
      • A variety of special purpose applications: IMSL (I once converted the FORTRAN IV source code of the IMSL that was written for IBM mainframes (8 bit byte, 32 bit word, and the 256 character EBCDIC character set) to work on a CDC 730 (6 bit byte, 36 bit word and a 64 character character set), SAS, SPSS, BMDP, SIR, Famulus, AHPL, and LogoWriter.
    • We are the "extra pair of eyes" and the "out-of-the-box" viewpoint that are often needed.
    • We can provide advice and guidance on a variety of hardware and software issues and will always provide candid answers to your questions.
